Just found your inspiring and refreshingly accurate article about the history of MKP. Jesus, who are you people? This story has no thick social meaning but the ones you conjure for it. Homosexuality? pedophiles? If I think perhaps pedophiles, then yes, definitely, pedophiles!

Of course! The story is an old world morality play about the oppression of women, the danger of pedophiles, and the Patriarchal tyranny of all fathers and royalty, simply because I choose to “read” into it

Oh, and of course, the inherent superiority of the 19th century GLBT community is clearly evident all throughout the story! What, you can’t see that? What are you, some kind of reactionary homophobe?

If you haven’t heard yet, it turns out that yes, Semenya is intersex. The IAAF’s tests revealed that she has internal testes and no womb or ovaries, though her external genitalia are female. They have not said whether they will strip her of her medal.

As I said before, however, the most interesting thing about this case is the public response to it. Notice how You Magazine (South Africa) put her on the front cover dressed overtly feminine. And how Lamine Diack of the IAAF described himself as a “son of Africa,” presumably speaking to another son of Africa, in refusing to accept the resignation of the humiliated Leonard Chuene (http://www.sowetan.co.za/Sport/Article.aspx?id=1062470).

Loved your write up and glad you came! My favorite line is this…
